While Zen Citizen includes a wiki component, it is not central to our vision of making government services more accessible. Currently, access to the wiki is restricted to our immediate team for collaborative content editing. We are uncertain whether the benefits of a wiki—such as community engagement and participation—outweigh the challenges of ensuring content accuracy and preventing vandalism or the intentional addition of false information. We do welcome input and feedback from the community through comments or by reaching out to us via email.
While exploring the wiki format, I learned about an initiative called Wikify India, started around 2011 by a couple of management graduates as a Wikipedia-like platform for government procedures. Their vision was for the content to be owned and maintained by the community. I spoke to one of the founders, who shared that the initiative did not take off, largely because the demographic profile of the wiki-editor community didn’t frequently access government services and, therefore, was not actively engaged in the idea.
