Following my visit to the BBMP, I met with the representative who had shared his contact information – let’s call him D – and the meeting went exactly as I had hoped. I was curious about his willingness to meet me on a Sunday, especially at a place I had suggested near the BBMP office, which is a good 10 kilometers from his residence.”
We met at IDC Kitchen, a darshini-style restaurant chain in Bangalore, and shared a brief coffee. I clarified that I wasn’t personally looking to do a khata transfer but was instead focused on improving how government processes, including Khata Transfer, are communicated. He agreed to help, and we walked over to Sri Udupi Food Hub, which was quieter than IDC, to continue our conversation.
D was very respectful and patiently answered most of my questions. After two hours, he excused himself but offered to meet again to address the remaining queries. He even offered to pay for his share of the bill!
We covered the legal processes in detail. The topic of corruption did come up, but I decided to brush it aside for another day.
I feel very grateful.
